Old Testament Scriptures Course

By the end of this course, the student will be able to: understand the construction of the Old Testament, the people and their history, be able to outline the major themes of the Old Testament, define the differences in the Yahweh, Elohist, and Priestly sources, describe the difference in the Yahweh and Priestly creation stories, understand how changes in society, such as the emergence of cities, affected the life of Israel, understand the significance of the temple, explain why two kingdoms developed and what they were, understand the significance and purpose of the Deuteronomic History, describe the Babylonian exile, understand the development of Apocalyptic Literature.
