Student Essay Guidelines

GUIDELINES FOR STUDENT ESSAYS

Student essays are a valuable part of the educational experience at the Interfaith Seminary.
We expect excellence from our students in their academic studies and presentations.
Therefore, the following are guidelines for student essays that every IFS student must follow.
Please contact your student adviser with any questions you might have regarding this format.

1. Student essays should be no shorter than 3 full pages. Anything less will result in a lower grade or an "F".
2. Students should research the topic on their own outside of the assigned textbook for the course.
3. Students submitting essays should use the following headings and format:

Title
Student Name
Date
Degree Program
Adviser's Name

Introduction
Body of Essay
Conclusions and Insights
Bibliography

Essays not conforming to this format will be returned to the student ungraded for revision.
