buddha” is from the Sanskrit root budh, “to awaken.” It is used as a title as in “The Awakened One” much as in the way Christians use the title “The Christed One,” meaning “the anointed one.” The primary application of this title has been given to one Siddhartha Gautama who was a human being, attained enlightenment, and founded a religious order called Buddhism. In this course you will learn about the 4 major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, understand what is meant by the terms "Bardo", distinguish the difference between Christian Meditation and Buddhist Meditation, understand the concept of non-attachment, learn about the concepts of rebirth and karma from a Buddhist perspective, and develop a process for helping others in the dying process.
