Academic Background
The IFS does ask that its prospective students have
some familiarity with the Degree they plan to pursue. But, if
a prospective student cannot meet the following requirements please
contact the IFS to discuss the situation and pursue alternatives.
The IFS doesn't wish to exclude anyone who has the desire to learn
based solely on their lack of an official degree if they can show
themselves capable of doing the coursework. The IFS does not do
intensive background checks, but retains the right to refuse admission
based on submitted information.
Diploma Programs. A minimum
of a high school diploma or its equivalent, as earned through
a high school equivalency test, or through practical work/life
experience, is required to apply for any of the Diploma programs.
Graduate Degrees. A minimum
of a high school diploma or its equivalent, as earned through
a high school equivalency test, or through practical work/life
experience, plus a Bachelor's Degree from a University, College
or Seminary or work/life experience equivalent. Doctorate Degrees
require a Master's Degree or work/life experience equivalent in
addition.
Residency & Time Requirements
There is no residency or time requirements for any
of the programs. All courses can be completed in a location of
the students choosing, whether at home or work or on holiday.
Prospective students may enroll at any time and Academic Advisors
are available year-round. Students can complete the coursework
as fast or as slow as they feel comfortable. However it is
thought that the student should be able to complete the required
course work in a two year time frame.
Computer Access
The IFS asks that all papers submitted for grading
be typewritten. Hand written papers will not be accepted. E-mail
is acceptable so long as the papers are in the required form.
Military & International Students
Since the IFS is a distance-based seminary with
no residency requirements, there is no discrimination based on
those serving military duty or living outside U.S. borders. The
IFS supports those who have chosen military service and
for no reason, including international affairs/politics/conflicts,
will discriminate against their desire to further their personal
development and education. International students are welcome
from any country provided they can correspond in English as the
IFS curriculum is only available in English, though work may discuss
topics of interest in one's resident country.
Campus Visitation
The IFS is only an online school, with its staff
and student body located across the globe. There are no classrooms
or facilities at this time to visit. Nor is there student housing
for those wishing to relocate.
Academic Honesty
It is the responsibility of the student to uphold
the academic integrity of the IFS. Academic dishonesty can lead
to expulsion and/or denial of diploma. Academic dishonesty includes,
but is not limited to, cheating, plagiarism, fabrication or improper
use of information or citations, submitting work of another person
or work previously used for another program.
